Long before the events of the actual novel, the Dark Lord Sauron forged the One Ring to rule the other Rings of Power and corrupt those who wore them: the leaders of Men, Elves and Dwarves. He was vanquished in battle by an alliance of Elves and Men. Isildur cut the One Ring from Sauron's finger, claiming it as an heirloom for his line, and Sauron lost his physical form. When Isildur is later ambushed and killed by Orcs, the Ring was lost in the River Anduin at Gladden Fields.
Many years after the original Fellowship,in the Elven city of Rivendell,there is a meeting for the races of Middle-Earth.Each representative and their allies have brought news of dark creatures appearing and many other ill tidings.Will they save Middle-Earth or will they fall?
Ella had been surprised when the Elven Council had chosen her and her friends to represent the Elves at the meeting.She knew that she had to show that they had made the right choice in choosing her over a warrior.As the meeting was in a Elven city,the Elven representatives were expected to speak first.So she spoke softly,"As you all know,dark and foreboding times are upon us.And many of us know why.The Ring was somehow reforged.We must take a company to destroy the new one,which was found near here.I volunteer to go.Will you?"She knew that her words about the Ring being reforged would cause surprise to many who did not know.She looked then said,"Will you?For the new Fellowship must consist of all races from Middle-Earth or it will fail.So I ask again.Will you volunteer?"She waited patiently for other volunteers.
