Welcome to the Herd~! Here in Moonshine Valley lives our wonderous herd, filled with half Deer people just like yourself! Though we live in a herd most of the others tend t hang around in specific groups, depending on which region of the world they come from, I hope so greatly you find what you're looking for in our herd, so come on down to play and meet the rest of us~!

Wellesley (Young Buck.)

The soft rays of the morning sun gently swept over the valley, spreading light through the treetops and across the small broke that gurgled its way through the grassy field to disappear within the dense forest near the Valley's entrance. Sleeping in a trampled down nest of long grass was the youngest of the herd, Wellesley, a young Buck who was lone overdue to outgrow his fawn spots and grow out his horns. But alas it was not so as the light creamy white spots still littered his skin and pelt, even a spot or two was still around his stubby nubby horns. Gently groaning as the bright light attacked his eyelids the fawn lifted his head from his arms to groggily open two sleep filled pools of green, clearly wishing to have stayed asleep longer instead of being awoken by the light. Snorting through his nose the buck gently began to stretch out with a soft yawn, standing up with only his hind legs so his chest still brushed against the grass while he stretched. Click! Wellesley snorted to feel his back click, standing his tail straight up in glee. Much better.. Hn.. Is anyone else up yet? He couldn't help but mull over, getting to his feet to have a look around for the rest of the herd.

He awoke early, the first rays of sunrise catching his attention and rousing him to morning air. Berwald had attempted to go back to sleep, but his nest of soft grass suddenly felt as uncomfortable as a bed of pine cones. After tossing and turning for a good while the buck had given into to the inevitable waking state and hauled himself up. The morning was crisp, a little chilly, but nothing to the degree the buck was accustomed to. He came from further North, where it snowed more often and the winds chilled bones. Not all had been frigid, Berwald had experienced his share of fair weather, but such things were much less prevalent in the little valley he now called home.

Berwald stretched and tried to rouse himself into a comfortable mindset as opposed to just groggy and tired. He was a large buck, past fawn spots and instead adorned with a smooth tanish pelt and an impressive set of antlers. A strong and silent type who came off as less sociable than he intended. As far as he could tell no others seemed to be awake, as far as he could tell, and all it did was make him want for a warm body to curl up next to and go back to sleep. Instead the buck remained as he was, back pressed to the rough bark of a tree, keeping a watchful eye out. Or an ear, rather, as his eye sight wasn't anything to boast about. It was rather terrible, really, blurred blotches of color that only came into focus once they were too close to be comfortable.

Nickolas shook out the light dappled fur, removing some of the stiffness from laying on the grass and stood up, he turned to look at his permanently spotted fur, the light brown and cream colored spots didn't help much to hide in the grasses that he lived around but being fast helped. Nickolas yawned, and took a few steps away from the bed of grass he had made just beneath a bush the night before and looked around to try and see if anyone else around him was awake and decided it would be best to keep his voice down in case there was something nearby that wanted something to eat. The beginnings of his antlers barely showed through his scruffy hair that was messy each morning he woke up and brushed his hand through it to hopefully tame it down and look like he was at least a little important.

He yawned again as he stretched, feeling more awake afterwards and admittedly, hungry. His hunger got the best of him and Nickolas looked around for anything close that he didn't need to go far for. Nickolas huffed, not seeing anything close enough to where he had been asleep and shrugged, "Guess I'll go for a walk..." he whispered, mostly to himself as he sniffed and turned in a direction he could smell a possible source of food for his breakfast that day, and maybe for the others if they were awake by the time he got back.

Having finally awoken and stretched out to the best of his ability the young fawn turned his bright green gaze around, more than eagerly having started to prance in the direction of where the other nests from his herd mates lay. Were any of them awake yet? Welesley snorted gently and slowed to a walk with his hooves clicking gently on the dirt and grass with each step, ears pricked up and alert for any danger that could be around threatening the safety of the herd.

It wasn't long before he reached a familiar tree that the large buck known as Berwald nested near and was already thinking of a cheeky little plan to sneak up on the large Scandinavian male. Wellesley slowed his pace to sneak, moving to the back of the tree in order to pounce on the horned buck.

Nickolas paused, hearing movement nearby and lowered himself to hide behind a few bushes until he could see who it was. Noticing the scent was familiar he peeked up over the bush seeing the young fawn Wellesly he grinned and continued on his way, keeping his steps as silent as he could, avoiding the loose rocks and falling. He neared the river and stepped onto the smooth bottom of the river and kneeling down so most of his underbelly was in the cold water and quickly dunked his head below the cold water and stood up, shaking his hair and pelt dry. Wiping the water out of his eyes Nickolas got out of the water and stood on the bank of the river, the feeling was nice until a strong wind hit him and quickly chilled the young buck. He ran back to his nesting space and huddled down under the bush again, shivering.

Matt grumbled slightly as he woke slowly once the sun hit his face. He shook the dew from his dark brown fur, sighed, then stretched his back - feeling it crack and give him temporary relief for the stiffness. Matt’s antlers stood from the top of his head proudly, though slightly heavy, leaving him with a crick in the neck that he tried to pop away. He sighed softly before getting off his bed of grass to head to the nearby stream, walking quietly to not wake any others that were nearby and still sleeping. He knelled by the water with another quiet sigh and took a drink, listening for anything that could be a danger to the rest of the herd. He didn't like to stay near the others, they were mostly loud, generally carefree, and it wore on his nerves. Matt, on the other hand, was more serious and would prefer the solitude of lingering somewhere closer to outside the herd rather than in it entirely. Still, despite his distaste for socialization he wanted to ensure they were safe, as he was still part of the herd. Matt stood straight and looked around for a moment before taking another drink.

Curious, he canted his head to the side, ears perking lazily as he took in the morning sounds. Members of the herd were beginning to rise and move about, though most seemed content to still sleep, not that Berwald would hold something like that against them. There were no signs of trouble, well, unless one counted the faintest sounds of something creeping up on him. Or someone, to be more precise. Berwald was no fresh fawn, he had enough years on him to tell when he was being crept upon, especially when the one doing the sneaking wasn't all that great at it.

Still, with this knowledge in mind, he didn't show any signs of knowing there was a cheeky young buck just behind him, separated by the thick trunk. He crossed his arms over his chest and let his eyes close a moment, waiting for the inevitable.

Slowly shuffling around the tree trunk the fawn hadn't realised just how much noise he was making with each step around the tree trunk, ears perked straight up as his bright cheeky eyes scanned over the much larger buck. Slowly he lowered his body to the ground, tail standing straight up with all the muscles in his legs tense, ready to leap. Just one more step...

Snorting in challenge Wellesley sprang forward and onto the more than aware reindeer (though he wasn't aware of this fact), head-butting Berwald to try and knock him down to his side. He would definitely do it today! This was the day he would finally best the large buck and prove he was big and strong like all the adults.
